Steering Committee

JCLAC will be governed by a Steering Committee of not more than twelve people, all of them paid members of the organization, elected at the main organizational meeting in January of every year, and serving for terms of one years. For more governance details, see Articles III, IV and V of the proposed bylaws.

Until the first formal Steering Committee election in January 2012, the individuals who have been meeting biweekly since March, 2011 to formulate Project Rogue Valley are offering to serve as an Interim Steering Committee, as indicated in Article III, Section 3D of the proposed bylaws:

D. Interim Governance.
To provide governance before the first regular election in January 2012 as described in Section 3a-c above, an interim steering committee shall be established consisting of the individuals who have worked in 2011 on reformulating JCLAC and creating these revised bylaws. These individuals are Lynn Barton, Lynn Blanche, Charles Brown, Larry Friend, Jessica Gomez, Michael Krebs, Bill Meyer, Linda Mounts, Mark Prescott, Jeff Reade, Carolyn Shaffer and Will Reishman. Other individuals may be added to this Interim Steering Committee by unanimous vote, provided that the Committee’s total membership shall not exceed twelve. The Interim Steering Committee shall select its officers as provided in Subsection C above. It shall pass its authority to the Steering Committee elected in January 2012, effective immediately upon that election.

Approval of the proposed bylaws will establish these individuals as the Interim Steering Committee.
